LED Lighting – The Smart Solution
The light-emitting diode (LED) is one of today’s most energy efficient and rapidly developing lighting technologies. LEDs last longer, are more durable, and offer better light quality than nearly any other type of lighting available.
WHY LED LIGHTS
Energy Cost Saving
LED lighting is revolutionizing how we light our world, by reducing energy consumption and lowering maintenance costs. LED is a highly energy efficient lighting technology, and has the potential to fundamentally change the future of lighting in the Kuwait and Gulf region. LEDs use at least 80% less energy,and last 25 times longer, than traditional lighting.
Widespread use of LED lighting has the greatest potential impact on energy savings in Kuwait and the region. By 2027, widespread use of LEDs could save about 348 TWh (compared to no LED use) of electricity: this is the equivalent of the annual electrical output of 44 large electric power plants (1000 megawatts each), and a total savings of more than $30 billion at today’s electricity prices.
Durable & Long Lasting
The lifespan of a typical LED device is 50,000 hours. That is the equivalent of roughly 17 years if you use your lights 8 hours a day, or 5.7 years if you leave them on all day, every day.
|Estimated Life (Years)||Maintenance Cycles|
LEDs are high-efficiency light sources. White LEDs with efficacies of 110 lm/W and up are exceeding the performance of High Intensity Discharge HID Lamp sources. The directional nature of light produced by LEDs allows the design of luminaires with higher overall efficiency.
LEDs contain no mercury and no toxic materials and are 100% recyclable, and will help you to reduce your carbon footprint by up to a third. The long operational life time span mentioned above means also that one LED light bulb can save material and production of at least 25 incandescent light bulbs. A big step towards a greener future!
